I have been very happy with the care I have received for glaucoma from Mr Muntasser and his team at St Paul's Hospital, Royal Liverpool University Hospital. It is a very busy department until recently in old-fashioned and less than ideal accommodation, nevertheless the surgery, follow-up and check-ups have all been very professional and I have every confidence in the treatment, which is ongoing.

My engagement with Mr Muntasser started when the symptoms of my Glaucoma condition first became evident. I was not really sure what was occurring and he was quick to reassure me that the condition was widely understood and often managed with a deal of success via a range of actions. Working away from home at the time, I continued to receive first rate care and support from the St Pauls Liverpool University Hospital Eye Clinic that was led by Mr Muntasser. Indeed, this has continued now that I have returned to Portsmouth and Mr Muntasser, along with his team, have now relocated into the new Liverpool Royal Hospital. Having undergone Laser Eye Treatment on both eyes and two sessions of surgery to address the Glaucoma in my left eye, I have always been well informed on what the procedures entail, the risks associated with the procedures, what represents success and how this will be measured and the aftercare requirements when appropriate. Thoroughly supportive, amiable and professional in all that he does, Mr Muntasser has my unrelenting respect and gratitude for helping me through a difficult period.

Mr Muntasser is extremely skilled and knowledgeable in his field. He was able to identify a condition I had in one appointment after other consultants had not been able to. Mr Muntasser then followed up his diagnosis with a successful operation. He explained everything to me so I could understand what was happening and provided reassurance while being honest about risks. His caring nature and clear skills gave me total confidence in his care. As a younger patient having this condition he has saved my eyesight so I can continue to see my two young children grow up. I am eternally grateful to him.

I have found Mr Muntasser to be an excellent clinician. He is both friendly and relaxed in the way he has treated me, both in his clinics and during surgery. I have found his explanations of my condition and the treatment of it to be most informative.

My experiences of consultations, and subsequent small procedures with Mr Muntasser have been very reassuring on all occasions. He is careful to explain the detail of any findings, conveying the information to me in easy to understand vocabulary, and if required, then tells me what his forward plans for me are and why he wishes to take that action. Those procedures were on all occasions carried out with him leading a well moulded support team.

Mr Muntasser greets my mother and I with a very warm welcome, consideration and an informative two way conversation with every consultation. We are always very pleased to see Mr Muntasser, who is is consistently personable and informative. My mother is very pleased to under the care of Mr Muntasser.
